After goku's death piccolo decide to train his son, Gohan. And he take him away from his family to train.
Goku goes to heaven and there the gardian of earth 'kami' come he appeals to the great king yama to grant goku the opportunity to get special training with the 'king kai'.
Goku has to pass the great way of "snake way" to get to the king kai's planet.
The king yama grant his wish and send him to the starting point of the snake way and after that goku starts his journey on the snake way.
